Using a friend’s awesome Nikon CoolPix digital camera, I created a set of shots in the downstairs lavatory with a mirrored wall behind and the mirror of the medicine cabinet in front. Taken from a set inspired by the old Pink Floyd cover photo on their album “Ummagumma”, this particular shot is just a head on shot.
Surely, this old structure has seen better days but if it could talk, it probably has a treasure trove of stories to share. Though it’s fairly obscure from some of the newer, eye-pleasing attractions downtown, this old industrial building is still in use today on the grounds of Dague Builders Supplies, 2 blocks from the YMCA in downtown Muncie.
Taking a Sunday afternoon stroll in early August, I noticed this pink flowering shrub along a decaying garage.
What an opportune moment to test the camera of my new Android!
The old Ball Corporation Industrial Park houses several glass related operations as well as steel re-bar and plastics. 2 historical markers now sit in the park, one for the Ball Corporation and another for the Hemingray Glass Corporation. Many of the structures remain still in use, but a large portion appear to be unoccupied.
A shot I took out the kitchen window one rainy day to try to capture the moment.
Indian Summer: reminds me of playing outdoor football with neighborhood friends as a kid!

“Ever et a pine tree? Many parts are edible!”Euell Gibbons
Euell Gibbons was a naturalist in the mid 20th century, well known in his later years for his Grapenuts (“reminds me of wild hickory nuts”) cereal advertisements.
From a set of shots I took in December of 2011, this particular one has nice light.
